Default Should I switch to Synthetic?

Is synthetic better for my car? Its a 95 accord, has about 138k miles. Will it run smoother? Does it really make a difference.

you could switch to syn oil but i find once the mineral oil has been used for that amount synthetics burn off too quick...the metal has adopted to that type of oil makeup but thats my .02 cents...

If youwant to use synthetic, it's OK. Unless someone can PROVE to me that my engine will definately last longer with synthetic and it costs about the same overall as dino oil, I'm sticking with dino oil.

I have NEVER had an engine fail due to oil problems and some of my cars have made it 200K plus with a 82 chrysler 5th avenue that had a 318cid motor that went 380K before the block cracked you could not really drive it anymore.

^^ I agree, it's fine to do, but no real reason to

I switched to the "higher mileage" Mobil 1 oil 10w30 vs the 5w30

That's about the extent that I've done, no real reason to change over
