Hasport shift linkage, can it work with other mounts?
Ok, i need a new shift linkage and im looking at the hasport but i read somewhere that it has to be used in conjunction with the hasport mount kit. I know every motor mount company makes their mounts a little different and sits the motor a little different so im thinking this might be why it has to be used as a set. I'm using the place racing mounts and was wondering if that linkage can be used with this, anybody out there use this?
Yes sir, it will work fine. The located where the shifter bolts too between the two seats is just too bolts, the rubber busing allows the 2 rods to be adjustable.
In other words it will work.

It's impossible for anybody to give you a valid yes/no answer unless they have the same exact set of parts. That's why Tom (at Lightning MotorSports) can't guarantee it will fit.
S10cky's comment is kind of worded wrong, but correct. The linkage assembly "floats" in the bushing that is mounted at the rear (between the seat area) and as a result, the length of the assembly isn't really that critical. What will happen if the modified length isn't "correct" is that the shifter will not be centered within the hole in the floor board. This really isn't a big issue and after everything is put together, you would never know.
On my set-up, the engine placement is similar to the Place Racing mounts and (from my notes) I cut 1.55" from my linkage when I shortened it to fit.
So, you could contact Hasport and ask them how much they shorten theirs and make a judgement call.
