tranny noise
my transmition is starting to make some noises, (5-speed LS) when the clutch pedal is all the way up i hear a ringing or jingling noise, and when i start to press on it the noise goes away, and just a few days ago i noticed a slight grinding noise when i start moving in 1st gear, but it doesnt do it all the time. any ideas on what it might be? the only thing i can think of is the throw-out bearing
not necessarily. When the spring broke out of the housing in my stock clutch I didn't feel it until the spring lodged itself between the pressure plate and tranny housing preventing me from disengaging the clutch. As you can imagine that made for some ground synchros. If you're 80k plus miles on your stock clutch (especially if you drive it hard), it be that your clutch is done.
