Default another IACV question

i know this has probably been covered countless times..i know how to clean the IACV but before i go cleaning and getting my hopes up that its going to fix my idle problem, i just wanted to run this by HT and see if anyone can confirm it for me

alright, if i let my car sit once its warm without any lights or anything on the idle drops down way below 500 and it feels like its going to stall. i havent sat and watched it long enough to see if it will actually stall but if i turn my headlights on it idles perfectly and doesnt bog down.

so does that sound like an IACV issue or is there something else at hand??

thanks guys.

im guessing its the alternator since the same **** has still happens to me. i tried replacing the fuel filter hoping that would help, but it didnt.

when your car is idling low with the lights on are the lights dim? thats what happens to me, and blipping the throttle makes the lights normal again, but when the rpms go below 500, they get dim again....

youre looking at it the wrong way, when the idle drops too low there isnt a big enough charge produced from the alternator making the headlights dim....

so the alternator is the cause of the low idle right? or is it the IACV?

wow...i posted this thread weeks ago lol

but anyway, its not my alternator...i want to say it has something to do with the Intake Manifold, Throttle Body or IACV...i just need some time to dive in and really try and find the issue. i recently swapped in a newer D16Y8 motor into my car and the problem still existed and the only old part(s) to go on the newer motor is my intake manifold and the IACV. so im gonna start there and hope for the best
