Default h22 engine low compression

im looking at buying a h22 for my 1991 accord AkA CB7 and i know a friend that has one with new pistons connecting rods and all but the engine has low compression?? how much would it cost to rebuild the engine and im getting it for $350 is that to much?

so your saying it was built for low compression? as in a turbo motor? you could re-ring it and run for a long time if its just worn out!

no it has low compression as in it needs to be rebuilt im just wondering how much will it cost to rebuild the engine and what do i need to do to rebuild a low compression engine that shouldn't be low compression

depends on what is causing the compression loss. It could be a scratched cylinder wall, or bad rings. Either way, have the block bored out to clean the cylinder walls, Probably around .020" and install new rings. That should bring the compression back to around normal.
