you need to put the header back on...dont bolt it up..just put it back on the studs..and remove the radiator fans, and anything else in the way..i think you shoudl be able to get it out without removiing the radiator...good luck
I think RStoR and I went from the top to install my JDM 4-1...
And yes, it took a while. You have to hold your teeth just right and you'll be able to get it out.

My Comptech header went right on,we put it in from the bottom first and pulled it right up
But my car is a GSR and your using a DC header so the setup may be different.

You just have to find the right angle. We removed and replaced the stock header with a JDM one via the bottom. Its all about the angle of attack

Gezzz... perhaps its the DC header then, but every header i've ever removed, I've never had to remove anything but the header bolts
Try using one of these, it pretty much makes everything fit everywhere

Stock, JDM DC, Comptech 4-2-1. Stock header is the hardest to install/remove due to it's weight. You aren't doing it right, it's easy as sin. Rotate then drop. Rotate then drop.

Did you remember to ubolt the ***-end(including the support bracket)? If so, then you should have plenty of space! I always unbolt the clutch slave cylinder from the tranny(only 2-12's anyways) and that gives me more than enough room. Just tip the top (header flange) end towards the passenger side and it should come right out!
