Default New Car :D

Alright,
I'm still a total "n00b"
but I bought a new car today,

1991 Civic Si, Fully loaded, Standard
Body is ok, pretty good actually compared to the other ones I have looked at,
needs a new windshield and a safety inspection, hopefully thats it..
got it for a steal of a price, tires on it are like new, sunroof works great and doesn't leak...
so far the only issue with it is some minor rust on the roof, and the drivers side window lol

Learned to drive stick today, bout 5 minutes into it and I can go around the city already,
can't believe how great on gas it is..
the previous owner had a dog in it, cleaned it out but am still going to get it detailed..or spend more then 15 minutes on it lol
any suggestions about what I should do first??

Looks like a good start. First thing I'd do is lower it. It looks pretty jacked up...maybe it's the tires.

lol stereo :D
Ive got 2 ten inch subs and some rockford fosgate speakers and tweeters all ready to put in, just transfer them from my other vehicles,
but the subs feel like they will double the weight of the entire car!

First thing I did was stereo

My car isn't even lowered, for some reason it just looks really high. Must be the angle that the picture was taken at.

Does it have any bolt on's yet?

If you don't mind...how much did that run ya?

P.S. It looks like there might be a small amount of rust forming on that QP. If so...that'd be the first thing I got after...

$3200! yeah good thing you haggled him a bit on that one! I paid $2000 for my 90 Si in Edmonton. NO rust though...

So are you glad you decided to take the Si instead of the DX?

Very much so!!
lol I liked the dx but there were a million little things that needed work/tlc/$$$$
plus, this car is soo damn zippy!
the previous owner put on a little fart tip muffler,
thats gone..thank goodness!
It was totally worth learning to drive standard for,
lol I bought the car before I even tried,
but ya, for 900 bucks, I could have done alot worse...:D

yea I agree with Denzcomp... get used to driving a 5-speed before you go lowering it and all that stuff.
Its kinda funny that im sure most of us started out driving 5speeds and this is your first time.
Have fun with your new ride and btw Welcome to Honda-Tech

PS... keep looking around... you'll find more awesome EF's here!

Ditch those wheels/hubcaps. Those are horrible.

Not a bad car for $800 though.

lol new to me car than I guess,

I took off the bra and cleaned it up today,
taking it to car wash tomorrow before work, thursday try and get it in for a saftey, monday new windshield, i got a buddy that might give me a set of euro tail lights for free, hes like the civic guru of my town, but car looks alot better without the damn bra on it, ive put prob 100 km on it in 2 days just practising driving standard, only gone through a little over a quarter of a tank, its absolutley amazing, and hopefully it goes through the inspection just peachy keen, but even if theres 2-300 bucks in minor things it needs I will still be really happy with my purchase, its a good car as is IMO, but once I put some time and 1-3 thousand dollars into it, I should have learned alot, not to mention made it something to be proud of!

euro lights = poo poo

Enjoy the gas mileage before you do anything.

Give it a good tune up and spend money on maintenance. Get her running minty fresh and go from there.

when you are ready for any upgrade, research! spend hours looking at every option you can afford and dont rush anything. I'm sure there are plenty of us here that regret all of the "just for now" mods we have done to our babies.

set goals and budgets and try not to cut corners. you'll thank us for this kind of advice later.

congrats, have fun, and enjoy the car to the fullest...BTW, don't street race and kill anyone including yourself.
