My H23 Prelude keeps giving me code 12 I know thats the egr but whats weird about it is that when my car reachs normal temp the code comes up. And then me cars idle starts screwing up when I turn the power sterring and have the clutch pressed in the car almost dies. And somtimes it actually does. Ive cleand my IACV and my EGR and it dosent seem to help anybody know whats up ?

 

Maybe the egr valve is bad and not just dirty.

 

If the valve was bad would it cause the problems Im getting cause I thought the EGR had nothing to do with the idle at all ?

 

clean out the throttle body too.

Make sure that the egr valve can freely move up and down next time your take it off to clean it.

Also make sure the vac lines to and from the solenoid are sound.

 

Alright I cleand out the TB and the EGR seemed to have a little bit of a tuff time moving so Im assuming the valve is just bad. But if the valve wasnt properly working would it cause the car to almost sputter out ?

 

What are the chances that the selioniod is bad and what are the syptomps ?
