Default 90 rex dx wont turn over

I searched and it seems like the problem is either the main relay, battery, starter, or grounds. Its not the battery b/c I just picked up a new one today. I doubt its the grounds, I drove the car 25 miles and parked it for 5 minutes and when I went to start it it was a no go. I tried popping the clutch all the way down this hill and still it would not start. Any way to test the main relay without having to get another one? Also, after about an hour from a previous start if I turn the key to the on position the lights on the cluster come on but when I try to crank it over I hear the starter click like it is about to engage for maybe half a second, then nothing and afterwards the cluster lights won't turn on again. Any help is welcomed, thanks.

It sounds as if its your starter. But an easy way of telling if its your main relay is to turn the key and listen for the fuel system to prime up under the hood. If it does this then the main relay is more than likely still good.
