OT: Pat owned... again??
Just got a call from my lawyer - he could not find my name on the docket for the county I received my ticket in. Hmm... He did some more research and found my name on the docket... of another county. One over from where I had my little run-in with Johnny Law. The ticket lists the county and courthouse where the incident occurs, but the lawyer found out I'm supposed to appear in another district. Hmm.
Best line ever -- "I've never seen this happen before." - Pat's lawyer
Anyone else heard of this? Now I'm really glad I hired a lawyer, because I would have never known about the court mixup, and would not have shown up, and would then have a warrant out for my arrest

This might be a technicallity (sp?) that might help you get the ticket thrown out. I know in broward county (where I used to live), if anything is off, the ticket is thrown out.
Craig - Whos gotten out of 3 tickets, thanks to the ticket clinic

If the incident occured in abc county, it must be filed in abc county and you must appear in abc county. If either of the 3 are not connected, they cop must refile...

sackdz-who's had a technicality (
sp
) save him $, but the sos still screwed him.
here, it doesn't matter. In fact, I've NEVER gotten a ticket that was assigned to the correct courthouse (even for my "lack of insurance" ones.. unless it was a county cop.. however Pat got his from a State Patrol/Trooper.. at least in this area any data not regarding the reason for the ticket doesn't have to be correct either, you can have the wrong date, wrong time, wrong address, etc, doesn't matter. Now if it's a 45 zone and he writes 35 zone on a speeding ticket that's a different matter.. (not that it matters for pat..)
I asked about that, and my lawyer said he would check into it. I poked around the NC SHP site, and the trooper that got me is from the Charlotte (Mecklenburg County) district. He probably turned it into the wrong courthouse. I think that should be good enough to get it thrown out
Especially since failure to appear would have owned me

Now if the cop turned it into the wrong courthouse but goes to the one listed on the ticket.. he obviously wont make it to appear in court
in FL that'll get the ticket thrown out when he doesn't appear.
