Default transmission sticks (auto) while going from park to drive & vice versa......

i have a 93 lx 4 door auto (i know, i know) but its a get-a-round ....i was considering converting to stick once this starting happening.. i havent really found any step by step threads on how to do this exactly ... so ill probably start one with pics.. but want to do this the right way.. as far as the auto tranny goes sum 1 told me to put lucas in it n e suggestions?

"thread title" car very hard to get into gear while going from park to drive.....& from drive back into park... could this be low tranny fluid? n e suggestions... sorry if i wasnt clear earlier

u know how to check trans fluid? can't u just do that instead of asking could it be..

the tranny dip stick is on the battery side (passenger side) behind the transmission (between firewall and transmission), it's kind of low in position. have the car running and then go reach down to pull it out
