I would'nt do coilovers, makes the car ride like a pogo stick(bouncy).......
If anythig get a set of lowering springs, or go to your local junk yard get a set of stock springs and cut them....................

90 4d Ls Lowerd 2" on stock springs(cut)......... no rub and no camber with a stock ride.......

True wit the bounce, but still you do get a stiffer & better performing ride i got a set of these f2's:

Theyre 18 way adjustible. And the softest setting still doesnt bounce as much as the Omni power ones that ive seen. You can check them out at:
http://www.f2autolife.com/stor...bb276

it says they run for 850 but i got them for 750.00 at a shop in chattsworth CA (camp1320.com)

if you don't want "bounce" get new struts. cheap coilovers aren't the cause of bounce, blown or bad struts are.

no doubt full coilovers are better than all others, but for the random joe, why buy a $1000 suspension if you aren't going to use it. I can probably safely say that 70% of the people on this forum cannot take their car to it's limits - even on stock suspension.

Ok you can't be serious about that. Don't listen to him about cutting or heating up stock springs. You will definitely blow struts fast like that, not to mention other problems you would have. I have omni power street version which is 10K in the front and 8K in the rear. the race which is stiffer is 12KF, 9KR. You can also custom order the spring rates you want. oh btw I don't bounce at all and I drive on NYC streets!!!!!

I went with the Ground Control Coilover Sleeve & Tokico Illumnia Struts. I chose this set up because I felt the GC/Koni was to hardcore for me. Along with that they werent to expensive. Around $600.

Also it depends on what your trying to accomplish by lowering your car. Are you doing it for looks? the ride? or both? or how hardcore you are in your driving (auto x, or just dd)

I chose my GC/Illumnia setup because i have serval fun roads around where i live. I wanted to get my car to the height exactly where i wanted it. And i can make my struts stiff if i want to go driving on the curvy roads, or soft for a long trip.

since you said not to expensive, I'd go with Ground Control.

I have the omni full street coilovers, they're good for daily driving.

BTW don't listen to others about cutting your springs, it rides like crap and it'll blow your shocks in no time.

I got a package deal on ebay for Omni Power sleeves, springs, front and rear camber kits and rear LCAs for about 700. I'm hoping ill get new struts soon to eliminate the bounce. Its not that bad, reminds me of the suspention on my old mustang GT

For the price of those nifty ebay coilovers, why even waste your time cutting stock springs.

If anyone thinks Cut springs, or ebay coilovers are "Good", then I suggest getting intimate with a 220v outlet.

are you serious? half of honda-tech is full of ricers that want a suspension that "rides good." I assume you've never cut your springs because you're on some type of bandwagon against it. Before I could drive well enough for something in the performance aspect and before i had money, i was on nothing but cut springs and DIY alignment. I was dumped, it rode smooth and i didn't have to spend a dollar.

and i read it in an earlier post maybe not even in this thread but somebody please tell me how a cut spring is going to induce any more camber wear than a name brand spring or coilover if the drop is the same.

simply put, cut springs are a cheap effective way to get a nice low ride. you're going to be reducing the spring rate so it'll ride like a caddy.

true cut springs are a good way to lower your car for cheep/free but it still rides like ****. Very bumpy and you will bottom out alot because it will not be stiff and your stock struts will blow out very soon.

you have to sacrifice something....you basically have comfort, ride height, performance, and price, pick 2.

Um, yeah, I'm serious, cut springs is a ******* stupid idea,
even running some stiff coil-overs on Stock struts is just has useless.

I dunno how the **** you think riding on cut springs is "smooth",
You reduce shock travel, AND you're going to be bottoming out with one passenger..

You can be as anti-jdm-bandwagon anti w/e the fuck you want,
but cutting your springs is a Completely stupid idea ..

The end result ..
Oh a lowered car that can't go through turns over 30 cause you're scraping the fender wells from bodyroll..

DO NOT CUT YOUR SPRINGS! his 5 post count should be a clue here...

I myself am using D2 full coilovers and I love them... although they came with the car, if I had to purchase them again I probably wouldn't because they can be a bit pricey.

when you mean cut your springs you literally mean cut the stock springs that came with the car...that sounds stupid. this is my first car so i'm new to the suspension and lowering deal. however, it sounds better to just get new springs and struts that will lower my car a couple inches.

of course it's better to lower your car with lowering springs for many reasons. you said something cheap and a few of us got in to it. if you're looking for cheap coilovers, look on ebay. search "integra coilovers" and get a million results. pick one.

words of advice...do not go cheap on suspension..... If you just want some basic coilovers at this point, then I'd recommend finding a set of ground controls.
