I just take my front wheel off and slide the bike in the rear hatch with the seat down.

There's also a lot of bike racks here:
http://www.autoanything.com/ca....aspx
but those seem to be trunk-types.

Are you looking for a roof rack in particular?

roof rack, trunk type, trailer hitch, anything. i also ride beach cruisers and bmx bikes often so i need to fit up to 3 bikes. so sliding it in the car wont work for all 3. i saw that site before but they have trailer hitch locks and trunk type. can a trailer hitch be put on a fit? i've heard mixed stories of the trunk one not working due to the strange shape of it.

If you find a good metal shop, they can weld a bar for you and then install the trunk bike rack with no problem. I do not think it should cost too much, look into it.

If I were in your position, I would just get a trunk type because I dont know if I want to mess with the roof of the car.

Default Re: (eL) honda fit hitch

There is an online hitch company I just found that is selling a hitch with a tongue weight of 150 lb (that has to include the rack, so not more than a couple of bikes), made already fitting holes under the HOnda fit. They show a diagram, say the hitch is on sale for $75, and that you remove an existing shield of some typ e (I can't remember the details), and install in 15 minutes (ha ha -- presumably an efficient mechanic who has the car elevated might be able to work this efficiently..). Could pull a tiny trailer too. I think this in "hitchonline ". BUt if you google honda fit hitch, I think that is how I found it. Haven't bought my HOnda yet.

I've seen someone use the trunk type on the new VW Rabbit. Maybe they work on the Fit?

I've seen these on a couple of Fits at a bike road race/time trial.
They looked nice, and had great fitment too.

I'm planning on getting the Yakima set up for mine eventually.
