Default FM Shortshifter Install: A few questions

I'm finally getting around to doing this...

Instead of just swapping the bottom guts from my shifter I bought all new parts from Honda. I figured its just a some rings, two yellow bushings, the thing with the ball that goes at the center, some things that go over the middle part, and of course an extra cube for the side. I'm not concerned about the fit, but I was wondering which of these parts I shoud lubricate, and with what product? I currently have ball hitch lube and some white lithium grease. Normally i'd grab the the lithium grease but it contains petoleum products and I was uncertain if it will bother the plastic. I had read that teflon ball hitch lube is choice so i don't know if i've got the right kind of hitch lube.

Also, I have an s2000 shift **** I was going to use with the conversion. My 4th gen isn't a 6sp obviously, but i like the perforated leather and the weight. Well it doesn't fit on the shortshifter. I can start to thread it on, but it is much to difficult from the start. Am I victim of incompatible thread diameters? I thought all Honda MT are M10 (10mm x 1.5mm).

I would be very grateful if you can offer some insight.
