i just changed my front axles with rebuilt ones and i unbolted the front sway bar while doing the install. after i was done i rebolted every thing and took the car for a spin. during that little ride every bump i went over i would hear a thump in the drivers side front wheel area. so i took the wheel off hit everything with an impact gun. the noise stopped. then it stopped for about 1 day and today it started to do it again what do you think it could be. i am thinking it was the sway bar but i could be wrong..

Did you take the shocks off/apart? if you did, go over the install. That happened to me today, make the same type of sound.

 

Does it only occur when you hit bumps or when regularly driving as well.

This may sound stupid, but are you sure the lugnuts are on properly/tight?

 

hahaha thanks about the title. i have an impact gun and i hit the lugs nice and good. and it happens if i go over a bump. i did not remover the shocks so i have no clue what it could be.
