Temperature meter rising????

Default Temperature meter rising????

while im driving the temp meter is normal but when i come to a stop and take off, the meter raises as if it were an RPM meter. but itll never actualli reach Hot, it does get close tho..

Anyone know what this may be?

Clog/airbubbles in the line, or low coolant. Check to make sure you dont have a slow leak.

I would say its probably a faulty T stat. Try replacing the T stat then do a coolant flush and that should fix the problem. The temperature rises because it's sensing a rise in temperature so I would say the coolant isnt flowing through the block like it should, which could be because of air bubbles etc. but thats unlikely. I would also look at the radiator and if its old, they usually can get clogged and not allow coolant to flow as freely through either. Hope that helps

i had the same problem in my old EF and it was the head gasket going out. does it do it more going up or down hill?

nah dude, it actually stopped the other day. i filled the radiator with more antifreeze and filled that tank next to it so im assuming its all good now.

You were just low on coolant then, no cause for alarm.
