00 si motor swap
I have a 97 civic hx, just recently hydrolocked it...would a 00 si enginge fit right and bolt on? I know that the body styles are the same, but what types of problems will i run into? ECU Problems or anything? It needs to be inspection ready? Will this work?
You're gonna need
Axle, Shift linkage, ECU program for B16, and motor mounts.
It's not difficult to do at all. You can get a complete B16a2 for about 2.2K. 1.8K for a complete swap is a good deal.
the price I estimated for you is for a 99-00 clean B16a2 off of a Civic Si. If you dont care where the motor came from you can buy a JDM B16 first gen. That'll run you about 1.2K for a complete swap (good deal). The bad about those motor is you really dont know how many miles or where it came from. The motor are about 15-18 years old.

well i do know where its coming from its coming from my friends car it has 98k on it, I should know cuz i stole his gauge cluster
, I can get his ecu, his axle my be shot and so is his tranny, Will my tranny work with it? On top of that I may need like a conversion harness or somthing cuz i think his ecu is obd2b and mines obd2a

You can not use your tranny seeing how it is a d series and you will be running a b series motor. You will need to run a obd2a harness seeing how the obd2b harness will not work in your car. If I were you I would not run a first gen b16 cause you will need a lot of parts to convert the motor to run in your vehicle. Mounts, sensors, manifolds are different from b16a motors to b16a2 motors. Any other question I can probably help just ask emails vtchcrx@msn.com or aim blowncorrado
