Default HFP Fog light question

How bright are the stock ones that come with the fog light kit?

Are they as white as silverstar ultras headlight bulbs?

Or should I buy a pair of piaa extreme whites?

I figure I would ask you guys before I install the fogs with the stock bulbs and see that they dont look so good.

let me know what you think

thanks

Im waiting for my fog lights to come in and would like to know this also. I figure the stock bulb wont be too bright, so may just break down and put a good bulb in now since I will be easier to access it. ..................Say how do you like your silverstar ultras?

Yeah no one ever seems to answer this question so I m thinking nobody knows?

I wish sylvania made a H11 in the silverstars

But I love the Silverstars, True white color for sure. Legal. They kick the s88t outta the stock sylvanias my si came with!

HFP has nothing to do with the OEM accs. foglights but I'd reccomend some different bulbs for them. They give off an output thats similar to the headlights low beams but broaden the light out to the sides and a bit lower -- color is just typical halogen , same as OE headlight bulbs.

I ran silverstar headlights and oe fog bulbs and you can clearly notice the difference in color and output

o I thought the fogs were "HFP". Not that it really matters to me or anything.

But thanks for clearing that up for me your the first person who has had an answer. I've been asking this for awhile.

I guess I'm going with the PIAA XTREME WHITES. Since Sylvania doesn't make H11'S in Silverstars.

Thanks again.

I changed mine out because I wanted Yellow. I could not see spending that kind of money to light up under my bumper . Besides, the Customlightz retro provides plenty of lighting for me.

Here is site that provides lot's of options for the H11 bulb the fogs use, this where I got my Yellow bulbs for the fogs.

Looking at the PIAA's Im a little worried because I heard they kinda give off a blue light. I want something thats going to be white like my silverstars

Yellow does look cool but I just want something more uniform.

I have the dealer installed fog lights on my '07 SI. I looked at the link hellzcivic gave for the h11 bulbs and I like the yellow bulbs as well. But I'm wondering how the fog lights would look with a yellow bulb in the standard housing that has clear glass. I was thinking that it may look better if I got the Lamin-x yellow fog light kit ( http://lamin-x.com/products-color-film.php, http://lamin-x.com/ecommerce/o...f50f5) to cover the clear lenses. Would this affect the performance of the light? Is it possible that this would just not look right? The picture in my head looks ok, but it's always hard to tell until you see it. Anyone done this with their dealer installed fogs? Thoughts on this and pics would be appreciated.

Also, what is the difference between the Luminics 'original' and 'krypton' jdm series bulbs?

search. there are tons of posts about laminx. A lot of people complained about the film burning to the lens. And there are plenty of pictures on here of fogs with yellow lens/film. look in the pictures thread. I have seen my boss's tacoma with standard clear lens with yellow bulbs. you can't really tell unless the sun hits it, then you can see the yellow inside. thats during the day with the fogs off. At night it just looks like yellow fog lights.
