Default A silly question.. mud flaps, JDM stuff.

Well G'day,

Went to me local Honda dealer today and enquired about getting honda mud flaps... err.. well the guys says theres no mud flaps available for the type r's because of their bodykits? They were available only for the gsi's.

I can't remember off the top of my head, but i don't remember if i've seen any pictures of itr's on this forum with mud flaps. I know they're ugly but i'm getting sick of cleaning the tar off it.. but then again.. i enjoy cleaning my car.

So i'm just curious.. is it the same in the US? Can i use another manufacturers mud flaps to fit on?

Also.. i enquired about getting honda parts... like recaro seats, momo steering wheel, rims etc.

To sum it all up... the price would be so bloody expensive it just would'nt be worth your while.. if you're looking for JDM goodness.. go second hand

Interesting thing though.. is that i found out from him that the Recaro seats are actually bought in peices in their own packaging, like the wing and stuff are seperate. Gotta assemble the bloody thing yourself. Oh well, at least i know now.

if you don't have that oem kit then they are the same as the gsr's or any other integra for that matter (94-01).

The ITRs in the US did not come with the body kit. The mudflaps are the same as all other Integras.

Weird.. are AUS GSI's the same as the equivalent in america??

He said they were available for the gsi but not for the type r.. i thought they looked the same too. And i don't have the optional body kit on mine either.. strange.

Oh well, it's a ford dealership that sells hondas.. so it's a ford decorated room with ford clothwearing staff.. nuff said

GSI = GSR

The flaps will fit either car.... if you do get the side/rear optional body kit they will not work on either car.

The sides of your car are the same as mine.

I have the mud/splash/stone/tyre worm guards on my car.

GSI = LS?
VTIR = GSR

I'd say the mudflaps are worth it. I actually think it looks weird without them.

You are correct. I don't have my AUS sales brocure in front of me.

US = LS/GSR/R
AUS = GSI/VTIR/R

In the picture you can kinda make out the mud flaps on my friends Type R. I think they might be a little bigger than what you are looking for.

ROFL!

Actually.. i've seen worse.. on a tarago at uni some dudes got these MASSIVE bright yellow mud flaps... complimenting the hundreds of stickers on his big van. Looked like a hippie van or something. I'm going to bring my camera to uni one day.. the rice there is unbeleivable.

I am partial to mud flaps... I can't decide whether I should get them or not... Guess I'll have to buy some and see.. Or does anybody else have pics of their Rs equipped with some?
