Default how to register a real EG6 RHD in Florida

Hey everyone well like the title says my question is how do I register a real RHD eg6 from Japan in Florida. I tried searhing but could not find any links. But the peron I might be getting the car from said he registered it New Jersey and moved down to Florida a couple of weeks ago. He says since its registered in the United states I should have no problems when I register the car here in Florida. Is this true? or is it different since the car was registered in a different state? and if it is already registered how can I tell? all the help will be appreciated thanks.

The best idea is to call your local DMV and get the info from them. Different states likely will handle things slightly different than other states. So getting information from people in other states will possibly give you incorrect info. And getting info from people in your state that have never done it will probably give you incorrect info too.

thanks I just got off the phone with the tax collector dept. which handles all vehicle transfers and import supposbly and the lady I spoke with had told me that as long as the owner had a new jersey title and I signed it and gave me a bill of sale all I would have to do is take it to them and they will just take a look at the car and make sure the vins and the mileage match and thats all. And I explained to her it was imported from Japan to the states and it was RHD. Is that all I really have to do??anyone had a similar experience?

Correct, JDM cars have serial numbers.

They'll be checking to see if the "serial numbers" match the bill of sale and the actual car.

I live in florida too......This isn't **** hole Cali. where everything is a goddamn pain.

You can own anything here as long as it has a vin assigned to it. A true import that has been legalized here in the states gets a new vin assigned to it and is issued a title. If it was truely legal in jersey...you'll have no problem getting it titled here. There are a few 100% legit skylines and an Evo 3 I know of that are arround my town.....Have fun with your REAL JDM civic!!!
