Default Power Door/Locks Conversion

Hey, i just purchased 2000 SI doors and i have a 97 civic hatchback. I searched and found out that i needed a 2000 floor harness? and a relay? I am kind of lost on this subject after searching, can someone care to shed some light on this?

You don't NEED the floor harness, it can be done without it. Let me find the write-up on this for you.

here you go. you can always go to a junk yard to find it if you want. but you don't really need it.

I think i know what your talking about with the diagram and all the wires... I am not good with wiring so i think i will end up buying a 2000 floor harness. Harnesses from coupes and hatches are the same right?

hatch never came with power windows, only coupes. you can always try in the junkyard man, its much cheaper.

Im not very good with wiring also, but as long as you know how to splice wires and stuff, youll be good to go. Dont use the link above, use this one https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1762783 . That link is wiring it up without a floor harness. Just follow the intructions, and youll be good to go. It worked out perfect for me

i just did this swap on the exact same car but only windows not locks. now if you decide to use a floorharness u do not want to buy a 2000 floor harness because it will not work due to the fact that the plug that goes into the fuel pump changes from 96-98 to 99-00. the 96-98 has two plugs going into the fuel pump and the 99-00 has one large plug for the fuel pump. so u want to stick to a 96-98EX floorharness. now as far as doing the power door locks i have heard for them to work u need the door harness's to be the same year/gen. 96-98 or 99-00 as the floorharness in order to work but DONT quote me on that. this is the thread i that i used for the swap.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=922683
u should try and pm monicle (the guy who made that write up) if u have any questions and maybe he can help u out or send me and pm and i will answer whatever i can.GL

I thought the 99-00 floor harness would work, because in the write up that monicle did he said that he used the same year harness as the doors and that the fuel pump harness has one extra...Please correct me if im wrong.

yeah the extra plug is for the sunroof. and if you read his write up he used 96-98 floor harness as well as door harness which is what i did.

The 2000 harness WILL work, you need to redo the plugs, thats all. I have the 2000 harness in my 96 right now. Its not rocket science, and yes, it all works.

what do you mean by "redo the plugs"? Cutting and splicing? I thought it would all be plug and play if i got the 2000 harness for my 97...

i just mainly want the power windows to work...

Not even close to "plug and play" my friend. If you want that, seek a 96 EX harness.

a 96-98 ex floor harness would be 'plug and play' using 2000 power si doors?

if you buy a 99-00 floor harness then you will have to repin the front and rear main clips on the floor harness to match the oem clips on the 96-98 front and rear main cabin harnesses. If you get a 96-98 floor harness you will not be able to install power locks because there will be no place to connect the lock control box.

If youre looking for the easiest way to make this happen you will get a drivers door harness and a floor harness from a 96-98 with power options. the conversion will still take time tho.

Go to your local Best Buy and have a Viper system put on. They are very economical, will give you the locks you want plus a security system.

Except you can't just simply repin the 99-00 harness. Some of the pins won't match up in terms of size. I recall this from my install. You will need to physically cut and solder some (if not most) of the connections. If this is on a hatch you will also need to run the wires to control the rear wiper/washer system as well.

I have both 00 si doors and I have a 99 ek. I have the complete floor harness from the si and I read the write up. This should be everything I need right? I also took a little black box that looked like it was connected to a seperate sub harness that this harness plugged into. I can't find where it plugs in now... Do I need any Black Boxes? from what was shown on the write up I didn't see it. I thought that it might be the power lock control box but I dunno... Thanks For any help.

No black box needed. The lock control box is a milky white colored box located down in the drivers kick panel.... by the hood release.

uh oh ... i didn't get any milky white looking box... i guess i won't have power locks.. but then again i wouldn;t have the remote to unlock them anyway... no big loss.. as long as the power windows still work I will be happy.

every plug on the back of the fuse box is original. you cant screw it up. just plug them into the ones they fit in and youre good to go.
