What can you do or buy to get rid of a speed restrictor/governer?
I have a 2001 civic LX sedan. I have looked everywhere, but have not found anything.

nothing. no way to remove it that i know of, why do you need to go 130mph anyways? if you wanted to go that fast on a regular basis, you have the wrong car, look into getting a faster car for that like a ferrari.

The car's power is probably what's limiting you. The car tops out at 115mph, with the wind at your back.

My only assumption, is that you're wanting to cruise the autobahn, but even then I don't see the point at trying to go faster than the car is ready to go.

lol, nah I allready hit the governor and I'm planning to turbo the car, I know that i would feel comfortable knowing that I can do 200km/hour instead of the 185 cut out.
and yea, I've been on the autobarn. lol

There arent any chips to negate the governor ??

I was able to do it with my s10 I used to have. I have thought about it with the Civic, but am never driving that fast. *shrug*

actually my civic has rev limiter and speed limiter. 7200-7250 rpm range. and at 185km/hour it cuts out. My brothers 2000 EX coupe cuts out at 190-195. and also has a set rev limiter.

i guess I just answered my own question, lol. I found this:

GReddy e-Manage Ultimate Description
The GReddy e-Manage Ultimate is ideal for optimizing and fine-tuning performance products such as; Exhaust, Air Intake, Intercoolers, Boost Controllers and Turbo upgrades.
The GReddy e-manage Ultimate does what no other piggyback ECU can and it was engineered to preserve the best features of the original e-manage (Economically priced,
there is no need for tuning from scratch and it is compatible with most Japanese performance vehicles).
Some of the new Ultimate features include; add and subtract fuel and ignition maps, a two-preset memory (i.e. Street and Race program),
A/F Target Map (for self tuning), built-in adapters and correction maps, and extensive data logging with Map Tracing for easier tuning.
The Ultimate also has built-in Boost, Rev, and Speed Limiter-Cut features .
To create super smooth operation, there are various fine tuning Correction Maps to adjust for Throttle Acceleration, Vehicle SPeed, Water Temp, Intake Temp, Auto Trans Shift, Anti Engine Stall, and Idle.
Other new features include: Improved RPM recognition, Warning Settings, Password Protection, VTEC control, 02 Feedback, Clean Fouled Plugs, and numerous others in future updates.

Its not worth it at all, the motor more than likely can't be running very good past its rev limiter, and the rev limiter has a purpose. lets say you miss shift you'll screw the motor up, blow something, damage the valvetrain parts and then you get to spend more money on a new motor so dont waste your time/moeny doing that just get it boosted and have fun with that maybe build the head to insure your money spent wont get you stuck on the side of the road when if get boost happy. yes honda does make some pretty good motors but their not bomb proof. JUST DONT DO IT. Or get a k swap done youll get more revs and Hondata's refalsh will increase the revs a little more too youll spend just as much doing that as with boosting your D17 and the k has way more potential to build up and makes about the same power as a D17 running 4-5 psi

na, I'm not gonna get that thing, lol. I am just getting the turbo and installing that,
along with a high flow cat and exhaust from greddy.
The governor thing just pisses me off.
I got lots of rpm range left and the thing just bugs me. especially when my bro drives past smiling at me with his ex.
lol Where does your car govern out?? anyone try it yet?
