I found falken azenis rt-615 tires at a good price and i thought i'd share
I was shopping for some 205/50/15 Falken Azenis RT-615 tires.
Discount tire direct has them for 90 per tire with free shipping.
Vulcan tires has them for 73 per tire but you have to pay shipping. shipping to my area came out to $11.50 per tire. grand total of $84.50 per tire.
I called discount tire direct and asked if they would price match. they said they couldn't give the shipping away for free AND match vulcans price per tire price but they could meet somewhere in the middle.
the end result: $81.00 per tire shipped from dicount tire direct. I thought that was pretty good so i figured i'd share the wealth.

Good info.
I assume (after checking Discount's prices) that this is for the 205/50-15 size, which Vulcan sells for $73 plus shipping. Since ground shipping generally runs around $9-12 per tire, Vulcan's regular price is significantly less than Discount's regular price.
Usually, the prices at the big tire vendors (Tire Rack, Discount Tire) are competitive with other places, but not always. If you find a cheaper price elsewhere, it's worth asking if they'll match it; you've got nothing to lose by asking. Of course, you can always buy the tires from the place with the lower price, too.

yeah i bought some new wheels. i have mixed feelings about posting who i bough them from since they bit the bullet and price matched. I dont mind sending more people their way, i just dont want to (in so many words) obligate this vendor to sell at a discount.
I got the Drag DR16's which are pretty much the exact same thing as Rota GT3 for a really good price. i found them on ebay and i contacted the vendor who happens to be a honda-tech sponsor. they matched the ebay price.
i was happy to support a honda-tech sponsor and if you guys feel that its not in bad taste ill gladly name the vendor that i bought them from as they provided great service and a wealth of knowledge.
