What's better? Coupe or Sedan?
By far, I know that the EX trim has the most HP and has VTEC and is more luxurious. But I just wanted to know money wise, which is a wiser, better choice. I am 15 and this car would be for taking me to school, work, and I hope to keep it for a while or until I start bringing in a lot of money a week. But before I start looking, I need to know what to look for. I know I want a Civic '96-'00. Coupe or Sedan. Definetly not a Hatchback. I will tend to have friends in the car and I think of others so I keep my mind in Sedans for their convinience. And I've also been told that coupes cost more in car price and insurance price (because they're more sportier). I look into putting a Type R lip kit (front and rear) and that's the only exterior modifications I plan to do to this car. Engine-wise, I don't know yet because I have no experience or knowledge in that part.
Now I want opinions in trim, not so much speed, but I do like the sound of having a VTEC. I want to keep it '99-'00 but I can't be too picky. I don't know how many miles I should look for in a car. I'll probably be doing on average 5 miles a day. Can't really afford to be going into the repair shop every week because of engine problems. I want to see pictures of different trims and years. I want to keep interior on the gray side. No tan or beige. Exterior color doesn't matter but I prefer black or a royal blue kind of color.
[EDIT]
I don't care anymore for Sedan or Coupe. It all matters on the deal I can get and the MPG. I only plan to do a Lip kit and put some Rims. Keep the tires stock. Maybe a paint job. If I were to go with Coupe, I'll probably get EX or DX. For sedan, doesn't matter. But for the price...Is it true that the coupes cost more in car value and insurance price? If so, why?

Its sound like u made ur mind up about getting the sedan already. If ur gonna be taxing ur friends around get the 4dr as far as color goes that blue only comes on the si and the insurance will be more as far as model goes the ex has pwr evrything & a sunroof and like 10more mileage wise they'll be anywhere from like a low 100k~150k
No 6G Civic in the US is available in a dark blue color. The closest would be the color on the '99-'00 Si, which is called Electron Blue Pearl. There is a nice dark blue that came on European Civics (and some Acuras here) called Adriatic Blue Pearl.
Just a warning, VTEC won't feel like anything in an EX, and it won't sound like much either.
The EX will come will full power options and a moonroof. You'll also get the center armrest, air conditioning and a map light (on '98s and up). They come in 4-speed auto and 5-speed manual.
'99 EX coupe
- Interior will be Light Gray or Dark Gray
Clover Green Metallic (G-82P)
Taffeta White (NH-578)
Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583P)
Flamenco Black Pearl (NH-592P)
Milano Red (R-81)
'00 EX coupe
- Interior will be Light Gray or Dark Gray
Clover Green Metallic (G-82P)
Taffeta White (NH-578)
Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583P)
Flamenco Black Pearl (NH-592P)
Milano Red (R-81)
'99 EX sedan
- Interior will be Light Gray or Tan
Iced Teal Pearl (BG-41P)
Clover Green Metallic (G-82P)
Taffeta White (NH-578)
Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583P)
Flamenco Black Pearl (NH-592P)
'00 EX sedan
- Interior will be Light Gray or Tan
Iced Teal Pearl (BG-41P)
Clover Green Metallic (G-82P)
Taffeta White (NH-578)
Flamenco Black Pearl (NH-592P)
Vintage Plum Pearl (RP-32P)
Titanium Metallic (YR-525M)
A key to better describe some of those colors:
Light Blue = Iced Teal Pearl (BG-41P)
Dark Green, Gold Tones = Clover Green Metallic (G-82P)
Bright White = Taffeta White (NH-578)
Black Pearl = Flamenco Black Pearl (NH-592P)

HAHA well said.... I also said 5-10 miles a day too back then I noticed I almost never came home when I got my car. If I did 5 miles a day I'd have to almost never fill up.

you say you don't want to be picky..but you DON'T watch a hatch, went from '96-'00 to only '99-'00, and it sounds like you want to buy something because of your friends. I say just go buy a motorhome and taxi around everyone on H-T. =D
think of it like this.
if your the first one to get a car in your 'group' people will be asking you for rides.
then once they get their own cars a year or so later, 99% of the time its just gonna be you and maybe 1 other person.
only reason a sedan is necessary is if you have a huge family or you have kids IMHO.

Sedans have their upsides though.
-You can still have that extra space if you do the roadtrip thing with your friends.(Collect gas money though!)
-Sedans are a little more unique in the Honda community, because fewer people who look for power go for them. If big power gains are not your goal, a sedan can be done up to be nice looking, and a great ride.

yo soy wedo, pero, mi novia es una chola... or something
Neither the sedan nor the coupe have any rear headroom. And then there's the total lack of trunk space. If it's a Honda, it better be a hatchback or else I don't want it.

Dude do realize how short a mile really is? I drive 32miles just to work and back everyday! And I work only 17 minutes from my house.

Unless you have one of the nicer or newer cars in your circle of friends. Then you'll get asked for rides for years to come and eventually they'll get pissed off if you start asking for gas money.
I wouldn't recommend your friends having a part in the sale of your vehicle. It'd be one thing if you had family that you had to bus around (like a grandmother that just won't be able to get in the back of a hatch or coupe).

6G hatches have around 1-2 inches of more headroom than the coupe. It's not really that much more back there.
