Default Toyota Yaris Liftback VS. Honda Fit Sport (Orlando, FL car purchasing)

My roommate is wanting to purchase a new car today. He test drove a Yaris today and was almost suckered into paying $16,000 out the door for only power windows/ locks and an automatic transmission. This is his first new car purchase so he isn't the best at working out deals... so he wanted me to look into the prices that others have been paying so he knows what a fair price would be. Tomorrow morning he's heading out to the Honda dealership (in Orlando, Fl) to test drive a Honda Fit Sport. He'd like to be more prepared with a real world price of the car (out the door w/ everything included). He checked out edmunds TMV price but is just having me check here to see if those prices are legit. We'd appreciate if you told us what you paid, average Honda finance interest rates, and what to look out for... also do you vouch for any dealers in the Orlando area?

Fit sport with MT should be no more than 16,7xx i believe. AT is a bit more but who really needs that crap? Courtesy Honda out in sanford has always been nice to me and i bought a car from them when i was pretty young and I got 2200 more than the other 2 honda dealers were giving me for my trade

Everyone is pretty much paying MSRP, 'i.e. "Full Price", Ouch ! Mine, a sport M/T, was 17K out the door. Amazing they can get that much for such a tiny car eh ? welcome to the 21st century.
And what a laugher up in Congress, setting fuel mileage standards for 2025, for cars at 36 mpg, and trucks at 30. What a pathetic job the car companies are doing, I had a 59 Morris Minor in high school that got 44 mpg. Jeez ! what gives with these morons ?

I'm guessing that thing didn't have a 5 star crash rating and 6 airbags and only had 0.9 liters??

Two weeks ago we bought a white Fit Sport MT at Holler Honda for 15,620 out the door. That's total final price (transfered a tag).

No warranty, no floor mats. Lot's of haggling.

PS-We test drove the Yaris first. No comparrisson. The Fit is just so much more solid and 4 doors, and more room, and better sound, and.....
