Would you guys pay retail for a CLEAN low mileage gsr?
Basically, I've been looking for a CLEAN, unmodified gsr for a daily. Im done with modding cars and I just want something quick and reliable to drive to work and school. I just sold my previous gsr a few months ago because I needed the money for school, but it is really inconvenient to not have a car in so cal, lol. Im gonna be taking out a loan, so I want something a clean as possible. I've been looking around lately and found a low mileage gsr for sale. Everything is stock, no mods, fully loaded, clean paint and interior, nothing wrong with it.
I know how hard it is to find a clean unmolested integra in so cal, so I really want to ****** this thing up. The only thing is the seller's asking price is what the kbb says for the RETAIL value of the car. Personally I think this is way too much to be paying for a car, but I know that GSR's go for more than kbb private party-but I had never thought of paying for retail for a car. What would you guys do?

Yes, I know paying retail for a gsr is ridiculous. I just wanted to see if i was the only one who thought this or if this was the norm for gsr's these days. I just sold my old gsr with a few mods a few months ago for more than what it was worth for kbb private party and a people said it was ridiculous then. I think that paying between kbb private party and kbb retail would be fair for such a clean integra, I guess we will see.

It sounds nice to have such a clean GS-R, but retail is way high. Like Corey said, offer something that you HONESTLY think is reasonable for both of you and explain your point of view, he might accept. Or should if he's not a moron.

LOW BALL THAT FOOL........give him a low price to start ot with.....dude the car is a used car, why are you paying the retail price from a dealer that would have the car 100% checked out and painted and detailed? if that is what he is offering you then go ahead....but make sure it is clean first and you KNOW it is clean. FYI make sure all the paint matches.....look closely........in the sun is better to see defects where body work might have been performed etc.....
you need to go see the car for your own eyes. and if this guy see's that your serious at buying it...he may drop it a little. take your time at looking at it, too. note everything that is wrong with with....if its immaculate as it seems...there must be something else going wrong. if not, then even better for you at least you know what your looking at.
Try to ask the seller for the VIN # and run a history check on it. for $20.00 you may find more info. before you even go to see it.

i paid 6500 for a CLEAN LS with 52K miles from a dealer in Santa Barbara.
im guessing a GSR would go for about 8-12K. depending on the dealer. But im guess for my car..gsr..with the low miles..probly 10K or so

Ok, so I guess the consensus is that regardless if it is a "clean ***-stock-low mileage-gsr", nobody should pay retail. Cool, thats exactly what I was thinking-but I guess you dont know the honda market these days. Fools try to ask for way more than their car is really worth. It just sucks because it is so damn difficult and frustrating these days to find a "clean ***-stock-low mileage-gsr" in socal, let alone anywhere else.
Thanks everyone.

at this point of my life....no, i would not. I'd rather shell out the same amount for a used luxury car......don't have to worry about it getting stolen or what not

You said it all right there. Maybe the guy selling it knows what he has too and how valueable it really is. If someone were to be starting a serious build a car that is this clean would be a perfect start. The gsr i got was like this, and yeah i prolly paid a little more than i should have but i wanted one that was taken care of. It's going to be harder and harder to find an integra that has been taken care of and left stock. I bet he could get retail for that car.
