Default need a lil help and an answer...

i was driven to work today and noticed my tach wasnt workin for my mph but everything else is working fine. i tried searching but nothin came up. any ideas??

it might b that ur the clip for the mph tach on the tranny came off

when i once had a loose connection at the alternator my tach did that was kinda intermittent

it sounds like your speedo isn't working. tach is fine right?

it's a cable that runs from the top of your transmission to the back of your gauge cluster. make sure it's properly attached in both of those places.

would code 17 be affecting the mph tach??

ooohhh i know the answer to this one!!

it the fuse!

check the red fuse on the bottom left hand side under your dash.

also check a couple of fuses in the black box under your hood.

this happened to me, and it was a burned fuse.

mph = speedometer
rpm = tachometer

If it's the speedometer, it could be a multitude of things. Did you recently have the cluster out? If so, check to make sure the cable is all the way on.

code 17 is vss. the only time my car did that was when i did put the cable back into the tranny after a swap. so as someone said check the cable.
