Default update! 37 fuse, -25+ lb

i had some free time so i decided to take out the spare tire and the kit. ended up taking a decent amount of weight of.

Chilling next to his buddies

Honda should have painted everything. GRR

then i pulled the Day time running light out.

basically go pop your hood and take out the fuze cover. under the cover there will be some spare fuses and a "fuze puller"
use the puller to pull fuze 37 out under the steering wheal.

just some random shots.

i took out the DTR'l just because i dont like when my light are on at the day time all the time. plus i like when i roll up to my frinds or whatever and have just the corners on.

some poeple will say why do you take them off they are for saftly so people can see you better. Big deal when ever i feel i need my lights on i turn them on. ( bad weather, dark, morning.) duh
other wise i think they are useless.

It saves you absolutely nothing. Perhaps less "draw" on the electrical system, but how much power do the DRL's actually draw?

Not much IMO.

Correct on the cleaner look and personal preference. When I enter a base or post, I know it plainly sucks when headlights are in your eyes, no matter how dim they are! Parking lights are the preference there.

I hate it too when I park somewhere and want to just have the parking lights on and those pesky DRL's are on too! Makes for bad pics, and dull appearance. If I want my lights on for safety, Ill turn them on! (Which I do now every time Im on the road!) Sorry for the long reply, on a roll I guess!

So did you pull the spare & tool kit out just to weigh it or are you leaving it out of the car for "weight savings" ?

Or is your car a transformer?

So that if you get a flat tire it can transform into robot form and walk you home.

might wanna keep the spare. it saved me once, you never know when you might need it.

besides 25 lbs in nothing unless your car is bare and used only for track.

Only thing that sucks about the spare is that we can't use it for the fronts (Si only). Have to jack up the rear, take it off, put on spare, put rear on front, put flat in trunk...ugh. Of course just having LSD makes up for all of this, but...

I don't want to get a flat in front ever, anywhere.

Correct me if I am wrong, please, but on my SI, the DRL's are only on when I am in gear with the engine running. Sitting parked somewhere with the engine running, the DRL's will go off unless your sitting in gear with your foot on the clutch. But like I said, this is how they work on my car. I discovered this when I installed my HID's.

The moment the ebrake goes down the DRLs will turn on until the vehicle is completley turned off.

Thanks for the correction Trevor. I know something else had to happen for the lights to go on. I thought it was when it went into gear. I never thought about the fact that I put the car in gear and then release the ebrake. I associated it with putting the car in gear, not the brake.

I thought they went off automatically when I sat in a parking lot waiting for my son a couple months ago. But now that I think about it, your right, I turned the ignition all the way off and then back on to reset the nav, that must have been when they went off. I just remember noticing them off when I looked up.

Again, thanks for the correction and my apologies for any erroneous info.

Thank you again sir.

Show me a post or anything that shows an accident was due to because the DRL'S weren't on. or show me a post where someone almost got in an accident but because the DRL'S were on...no accident was there. until than i beleive that the DRLS are for no use in safety, what so ever.

Well, being in law enforcement for several years, they do help during daylight driving, BUT, BUT............in my opinion they cause folks not to turn on their headlights on at dusk and near dark in town because they "think" their lights are already on! However, their taillights arent on!!!!!!!

I think they are probably better on motorcycles and not the cars really, they do help on really dark cars or really white cars I guess.

Enough on this area! LOL

I love it, all except the annoying voice that speaks to you like you are an idiot when using "guidance" on th nav. I mean, how many time do I need to be told to turn right at the next intersection. I am sure the voice can be turned off, but I have not had time to read the novel (called the Owners Manual) that came with the unit.

Other than that, I could not be happier. The nav is super accurate and sound quality is awesome. Being able to entertain my son with DVD's when we are on a road trip makes up for the annoying voice.

With all the amplifiers and subwoofer, I get a ton of looks on the road when my son is cranking Star Wars on the DVD player.
