Default 98-02 accord tranny (4cyl) should have recall! does it?

i have a 99 honda accord ex coupe (4cyl) with unlimited problems that i have had to fix, but the biggest i have had yet is that the tranny started slipping in 2nd gear around 80,000 miles and now @ 150,000 it went completly out. i know a few peeps with the same problem around the same millage or less and it progresses into 3rd gear and so on. Its fine and works properly until the tranny warms up, and then it starts not wanting to go into some gears and comes out of gear while cruising.

has anyone else besides me and a couple other people had this problem? and has there been a recall, or is there one now?

It wasn't too long ago that we had the transmission in my Accord replaced (2000 DX)... it wasn't over the mileage quite like yours, I'd say around 125k... but since my family has bought 3 Honda's from that dealership, they made sure it would get warrantied. Your dealer might be able to get it replaced, but you may have to pay a bit. There is no harm in taking it in to see if they will replace it.

well so far my auto tranny has been holding up. no problems. i have about 140000 miles on it. my tranny has also been through some abuse, been to the track and some aggressive street driving.
