haha, that is nuts
almost makes me think there will be more stolen cars, if they had stolen parts on their car once what makes anyone think they are going to stop, now they gotta get another car to "trick out and soup up"

all the aftermarket parts and oem parts that are found to be not stolen should be taken off, sold at auction, and put towards getting a place built for people to race at, which might help the problem some.
looks like the crushed more than 20k in cars in one of the pics

No... street racing is dangerous.. Needless to say, they wont be racing again anytime soon..

That is just plain stupid...They should do like Jersey, take out the stolen parts, put the cars up for auction, and re vin the stolen parts sell em and give a police receipt for it.
Money back into the City.

you are missing the point -- yes, one got pulled over for a tail light but he had stolen **** on his car = straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200

I wonder what the actual process / court order is like to take it this far ?
I mean I don't agree with street racing, there are places you can take your cars to race etc...but I bet the actual process to "decide which car gets crushed" has got to be long ? What happens if they think parts are stolen but are wrong ? What happens insurance wise ? Nada ?
Still crazy.

They had stolen parts on their cars that's why they got crushed.

I hope California falls off the US and into the ocean. Whatever's wrong with everyone in Cal is probably contagious and I don't want my state's legislature catching it. Sucks for you, but you'll just have to take one for the team.
i watched it last night, its nothing new they have been threatening us with this for years, doesnt really matter more and more street racing is still happeneing as i type. nothing wrong with it, just as long as the guys are smart about it and not stupid racing with a bunch of people around.
alot of vht, and a cell phone is all you need
btw: those are staged cars that got crushed for the media, imponded over 30days was going to auction. so they crushed them for media

I guarantee that you would not see an older car such as a 57 chevy or any older camaro, transam, corvette, mustang, etc.... in one of the crushers had they been busted for street racing. The part thats gut wrenching is knowing that a lot of the parts on the cars are getting fewer and fewer and getting more costly. That car would have made a clean sfwd car.

they crushed an 06 mustang last year..i saw it on TV. but i dont think i would see a 57 chevy or a classic like that.
street racing is dangerous and irresponsible and i think it should be penalizied or fined or whatever you wanna call it. but thats not the way to do it. there is some other **** the media and police should be worried about...meth, crack blah blah blah that is what is really ruining the youth.

no you wouldnt. BUT you wouldnt see a properly papered correct non stolen civic crushed under a clunker law, like the old cars.
bottom line, stolen parts, missing vin tags, = your beat. sad to see.

what about the guys that have reciepts from legit shops. should'nt they go after the people installing the stolen parts not the poor guy who wanted to hot rod his car.
