What do you all think of this muffler for a custom exhaust?
Here check this out...it's cheap...it looks good, and I'm hoping it performs well, the only question ihave is...what do I need to get a good deep sound out of it...or do I have to have a cat back set up for that?

How were you thinkin about running it???

wheres the tailpipe for that muffler? does it come out the same way (sideways) as the stock one? or do you have to do some sort of custom thing for the tail pipe
I was going to get that...have a shop mandrel bend 2.25-2.5(haven't decided...wanted you alls opinion) stainless piping, and have it basically looklike stock...and maybe buy a cheap chrome tip so it looks good...I don't understand it...I've gone to that site lots of times but never noticed that muffler till the other day...as soon as I have the money I'm ordering it...
So yeah in answer to your question I'm till trying to decide which would be more beneficial...2.5 in, 2.25 out...or 2.25 in and 2.5 out?

You have the same idea as me guy...except for the whole chrome tip thing....custom stainless piping 2 1/4"-2.5" mandrel bent.....the ES oval muffler, look like stock, havent decided on pipping but i will have a 2.5" collector from my header. should be cheaper than me buying another tanabe racing med.
oh yeah when I say "chrome tip" I mean like a cheap one that's stainless...and no bigger than the piping itself...

well i would go with the 2.25 piping unless u plan on eventually going turbo or supercharged. if your piping is too big you are gonna lose that precious thing that all of us honda people are looking for and thats TORQUE
I have a friend with a eg hb dx with stock motor and stock piping that runs that muffler and it isn't that loud, with the windows closed, there is no drone. But another friend with a eg hb w/ a gsr motor and no cat, the car is loud, but not obnoxious, with just a tad bit of drone. I don't have a car to put a exhaust on yet, but this es one is on the top of my list, next to dynomax superturbo and dynomax ultra flo, but I heard that dynomax muff's rattle.
Oh, both of my friends have thier mufflers painted flat black with no tip... supah sleepa

i have one on my 1990 CRX Si. it's great. although, i have the stock center section right now. need to get it replaced. it's really quiet. i do have a b16a swap, too. and it sounds great. it's held up pretty good. if you want pics of it, just let me know!
Rexman, id like to see pics, please post them or email them to aduong123@aol.com thanx
I talked to someone on here (thanks ian) and I'm going to try and call eS and see if I can't get a group buy put together for that muffler...so please IM me or Send email to Litmus66@hotmail.com if you are interested...
Ok guys, I checked with eS Sports to see if I could get a group buy on the muffler, but it looks like we'll all have to go through JDMHondaParts, or Inline 4...it's still pretty cheap...so good luck all, and post on here what kind of piping, etc. you're going to use, I'm still looking to find the most efficient way performance wise...
my brother ran that exhuast on his hatch... very nice muffler with 2.25 for the correct back pressure and i also am going to run that exhuast on my hatch when i swap my motor in... its a very good exhuast gives a deep throaty tone when in VTEC... my brothers was ran with hollow cat so i dont know about with a normal cat.. but yeah i would go for that it can still look stock and perform way better
uhmmm no the ES is a better choice of muffler... DONT look into magnaflow or dynomax over that ES
like EF2 says... very very nice once VTEC poops

I still have to recommens the Dynomax SS mufflers like the one Bushur Racing uses on their DSM cat backs. Looks and sounds sweet. But even a thrush glasspack will soung nice at 20 psi
I know Rexman has one somewhere but if he can't I'll host it and post it(did I rhyme?) tomorrow...
