I got a aftermarket cat on my itr. Its a random technologies cat, if you put a aftermarket cat on your a itr, will it cause the check engine light to come on? My friend and I decided to check the engine codes for why my check engine light is on and this is what I got, 67,65,23. I know this is contributing to my car popping and backfiring. Also, I checked my sparkplugs today and the outer edge of the plug has a little carbon build and the electrode and everything thing else is white. also on sparkplug #2, there was a little oil on it, what could be the cause of this? Oh and finally I was pushing my car hard today and after it popped and backfired we opened up the hood and there was some smoke burning off the turbo. This is hard to describe, but it was burning off the little flange on the turbo, where there are bolts. I'll have to post some pics of where its smoking, but if anyone has any idea on what is causing any of these problems please give me some help or ideas. i drive 98 integra type r. I have drag 3 turbo kit, turbonetics delta wastegate, denso iridium spark plugs, apexi exhaust, blitz dsbc and timer, random technology cat, aem pulleys, blitz dd bov. those are my only mods to the engine.

 

Now someone can answer your question, although I'm not knowledgeable (sp?)on turbos I'm sure someone here can help ...

in regards to the spark plug problem...platinum is recommended over iridium for turbos...and for overall value otherwise

 

really? didn't know that. Who do you suggest? I'm going to get some new ones and need to research. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
