Default H2B for Accord?

I have a CD7 97 LX Coupe with a JDM F20B swap. Right now I am running the stock F22 tranny, but the gears are pretty long, and first gear runs forever. Problem is that low RPM's really don't get me into any sort of power band, so my off the line speed suffers. I'm hoping there is a way to use a B-series tranny with a 4.4 final drive, or even the JDM Spec 4.785 final drive! Has anyone done this in an Accord? Anyone know if it could work?

Am I better off building a custom tranny? At that point, for that expense, should I just say expletive it and go FI for added power to make it a non-issue?

just go with a prelude tranny or euro r tranny.

You can get 5.2 fd for the prelude tranny so that really doesnt make sense to run B series tranny when your chassis use H series without any additional hardware.

you don't want to go to a D or B series tranny because they use different mounts and different shift linkage. That means you would have to fabricate mounts for the tranny and figure a way to mount the shifter in the car since it is different than the Accord shifter.

thanks dude. I appreciate it.

I found the final drive gears on mfactoryhk.com - the 5.2 for the prelude is currently sold out. once it's back in stock - look out!

anyone know if I can put a 5.2 prelude fd in a f-series tranny? i know f-series and h-series trannies all bolt up for each other in swaps... would this work too?

I would pick up an H22a tranny to go with MF fd.
you have f20b so you should rev at red line all the time... and that will be fun with short gear of and crazy 5.2 fd.
