I just finished swaping out my blue interior for black, and some things have lost power.
Left rear speaker
Dome light
warning bleep (the bleep when you open the door and the key is still in the ignition)
Does anyone know if the dome light and the speaker draw power from the same source? And where does the bleep come from? That is one thing I don't know.
thanks

Check all of your fuses. If nothing is blown, you might have to take the interrior back out and trace your wires and make sure you didnt leave anything unplugged.

+1.....its a pain...but odds are something is unplugged.

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking. It's a 95 civic hatchback cx. But does anyone know where the warning bleep comes from? I had all the interior out includeing the dash when I had to drive it back to my body shop to get a window resealed and it wasn't working then either.

If it were me I would fix everything but that beep, I hate that damn thing.
Could he have pinched a few wires also when putting it back in? I've never taken my dash out so I really don't know what goes on behind there...

Your dome light and the bleep thing work on the same circuit.
It usally doesnt work when you unplug the switch thats in the door jamb.
Check that.
And the same wire for the speaker runs around the same spot as the door jamb switch.

I finally got a chance to check the door jam switch wire (green/org on driver side) and it was in. I also tested it by arming my alarm and opening the driver side door to see that the alarm activated like it was supposed to. Does anyone have any good pics of plugs that could be affected back in the area. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the door jam switch plug behind the rear panel and the ground point that is on the floor just to left of the drivers seat. I am running out of ideas here...

oh yeah, and also a new problem. My horn stopped working. When I put my steering wheel back on, I aligned the wheel to the aligning dowels on the SRS module behind it. But when I started driving and turning the wheel, the module would make a loud sweaking noise like something wasn't aligned. I tried to realign it again, but it got worse. Eventually I just got tired of it one day, turned the wheel to full lock in one direction and the sweaking ended with a nice loud pop. When I took the wheel off today, the clear plastic on the lower left corner of the module had broken in half. I know that this thing has something to do with the SRS system and it's harness also contains the ground the connects to the steering wheel horn.
I have checked all fuses relating to the problems and they are all good. idea's?

well.. i duno bout ur wiring probs but i can tell you that you prob broke your SRS cable reel/clock spring... I had put a new steering rack in my car and the wheel wasnt in the same place when we put it back on, and i had that squeaking noise you were talking about, then the pop and SRS light came on... cable reel was broken
The beep comes from a small circuit board under the dash near the stearing wheel.
Theres a write up around here somewhere about where exactly and how to remove it. it has pictures, id search but it doesnt seem to be working. the beeper looks like a thick watch battery

thanks drummr6, at least I got one problem figured out.
ifIexplode, is the circuit board apart of the dash it self, and does it have a plug going to it?

speaker wire is part of the dash harness and maybe u didn't connect the plug completely... i.e. maybe it's loose? i did my interior swap about a week or two ago and had none of these problems. if you say ur door trigger is still working, then maybe ur domelight needs to be replaced? u can always run 12v to the domelight since it receives a (-)trigger from the doorpin and you should be taken care of. if u were anywhere around here i'd have ya taken care of in less than an hr

I'm trying to avoid having the rewire the functions that aren't working, but thanks for the offer.
I had a chance to work on the car yesterday, and I figured out the warning bleep and the dome light. A fuse had been removed and not put back when I went to my body shop to get a window resealed, so at least those were problems with a simple fix. The horn problem has been solved also so all thats left is the left rear speaker not getting power. Since I don't have a fuse diagram to work with, I just put a 10amp fuse in every empty slot to see if that would give power, but no luck. The only thing I think it could be is my radio harness. When my sister got me a radio for Christmas back when she used to work for Best Buy, there installation department installed a stock radio plug (cause the person who had the car before me just cut the plug off and wired the radio up directly) and some of the crimps look like they are coming apart. That's my next guess.
I think it's funny that the problems I have were caused by other people (expect for the horn, I was just pissed that day). No one else is gonna touch my car again!!!!
