Default h22a or f20b

whats up so here is the deal. My gsr blew up on boost and i sold my turbo kit off and have decided to go all motor. But bseries im done with. So i'm looking to do h22a or f20b with a ls tranny into a 97 ek. I have found the f20 (200hp 145trq 11.0 comp) long block for 1200 and the h22a ( 200hp 161trq 10.6 comp) basicly long block for 1950, bot on hmotors. And i'm planing on finding a ls tranny and using the quatersportdrag adapter plate that is 750$. In all i'm looking to have about 3000$ to go towards this to start off. Goals are to get about 250 - 300 hp dail driver. So i'm looking for input from people who have done this swap with same power goals as me. I have researched and all i can find is **** on accords. So helpfull input would be good. If u wanna talk **** save me the time and dont post. thanks

i bought an f20b cause i got it for a very good price , it you plan on going na stick with the h22 + it it hard to find basic parts for the f20b like a head gasket, rod bearings ect. but I'd go with the h22 and shop around for a better price on that motor 1950 is a little high.

well the thing is for an n/a setup you would be much better with the higher geared gsr it will get you up to speed faster also the ls is a good tranny but the gears are so long it wouldn't be nearly as fast... that is why people usually use ls trannys for DD turbo and race cars because they dont really need the shorter faser gearing of a gsr or a type r because they have the 350-800 hp the ls would suffice there needs and they wouldn't need to be shifting so fast ... ect and so on but trust me i have an N/A b series a gsr tranny is about the best for the drag track ow if you want it for the road course i would recommend the type-r or jdm type-r

i was thinkin ls due to the f20 being able to rev higher. Iv only been into this for about 2 years so i still have a **** load to learn. Where can i find a h22 cheaper then 1950 at hmotors? with same quality the hmotors provides ??

h22 longblock is only 1200 from hmotors.

Get that, and a gsr/b16 tranny. The LS tranny will seriously hold you back.

One advantage with the f20b is the deck height of the valve cover is 1.75-2" lower than the h22. So less hood spacing is required.

come down on that power goal. 250-300whp isnt going to be the most driveable thing. 250-300bhp on the other hand is a different story. that's only 210-230whp and doable. but, how much do you want to spend on this thing?

Please explain to me what Deck Height has to do with the Valve Cover.

And then explain to me why the DOHC VTEC F20b and the H22A have Different Valve Covers.

I see what bugs you, but I am not sure how it is specifically actionable...right now.

If it gets out of hand or he starts using TOSsable attitude and language, then get back to me.

He's simply saying that because of the lower deckheight of the F20B, it has more clearance between the valve cover and the hood than the H22 does. Meaning you could probably do an F2B without using hood washers.

Exactly, some eg's with qsd kits don't even need spacers at all.
