Default Urban Racer.com dyno challenge

ive been getting alot of these flyers lately and after finally looking at it it seems to be an interesting program.

anyone from here plan on attending one of these and repping the drag racers? i would think it to be an easy win for one of our own. im waiting to find out when the one at DRT is id like to check it out.
to UR for making some creative ways to give back to the sport compact community.

ah cool....i wasnt sure thats why i asked...i just remember being there and noticing that their dyno looked like it was about 6 inches above ground. dont remember if it was single or dual roller.

i'd be curious to see what my car does on another dyno thats not a dynojet.

maybe it will make 1000 or 300 lol

He isn't asking if it will max it out, hes asking if you can get it to hook on those small rollers.

I've actually heard the opposite from some DD owners, the FWD traction on the dyno isn't exactly all it's cracked up to be.

I used to spin the tires at 350-450hp on a Twin Roller Dyno (Clayton or Dyno Dynamics) when I was running my Mazda Miata on BFGs.

Never had any luck at all... They used to strap my car down like crazy.. But always did it!

Supposedly the DD is supposed to be the best chassis dyno available? Anyone know what it has over a Mustang, Dynpack etc?

I know it's physically small, but what else?

We just recently tuned on a DD. Most of them have torque bar, which as the car wants to lift, the bar pulls the car down to keep the traction.
The bad thing about it, is we notice a huge power difference then what we were use to seeing. But then again it is about before and after readings.

Don't run drag radials or slicks on a Dyno Dynamics. They will spin like hell. I know it sound weird but if you switch to normal street tire, it will hold the power just fine. I've seen this on a LS1 turbo car, a SC Mustang, and my hatch.

That is completely true! There's a big thread on it on the dyno dynamcs forum.

I tune on a dyno dynamics every day, and they are awesome for holding power. My car making ~630fwhp doesn't even flinch on my old-n-busted 555r drag radials . Its the strapping mechanism that does it. I've done a couple supras that always had to have people sitting on them with extra weight in the back on dynojets that don't even begin to try to break loose on the DD. We've been able to hold over 1000rwhp on drag radials.
