I know its a streatch for anybody to come by this knowledge but does anybody know how much CFM a typical intake on a 2.3L would pass while under WOT?
im just doing some research on FI applications and was curious

When you design an intake manifold, you make it flow enough for the head design. The CFM the intake ports of the head is going to depend on the the lift of the cams used, size of the valves, valve job, and port shaping, etc. That is head design.
WOT has to do with throttle bodies. The intake manifold would be flowed open.
What exactly are you trying to figure out here?

so in other words working backwards how much air is basically being drawn into the manifold?
Firtsly i was trying to figure out how different sizes of intake tubings affect the mass amounts of air being drawn in conjunction with intake manifolds plenums.
Wondering mostly how much air can be pulled through the typical 3" intake.
Well for starters I would like to know how pressure (psi) and cfm play a role in forced intakes. The quantity of air is important but also the pressure that is applied to it is also important so sizing of the piping is also very important because that controls both variables.
ALSO, and most importantly the intake control diaphram and the plastic box (resonator) under the intake box, what is the whole purpose of it? can it be removed? Is the diaphram normally open or closed? Its not in my tech manual, and if possible i'd like to know how to remove it!
