ok this is gonna be long but here goes i live near san jose and i know that there are alot of people that do hook ups and know hook ups,i need a hook up on my 96 bmw 318 so i can trade it in for a prelude.my tags are over a year old.i havent smoged it yet cuz the mec told me that i needed a new cat. converter. and for everything else im looking around 1900 just for it to pass smog.ok heres the messed up part i got pulled over and have till the end of the month to get the car smogged.i paid for the registration i just need the smog and i have a kid on the way so money is very VERY limited.i seen a few people online that can help but since i just signed up i cant p.m people or post in certain forums.so if you are someone or know someone who can smog it can you please email me at jmoon831@yahoo.com i would appriciate it so much,and i am going to pay.thank you

a new cat and a legal smog is probly your best bet.

Just buy an aftermarket cat and have it put in. Cheaper than going the "OE" way that you would with a shop.

Have your O2's checked on the 96-97's they had weak O2's and No they don't throw codes because they are stuck at a certain voltage.

Just repl the one before the cat and you should be OK.

they checked the sensors there were good they said the cat needed replacement and since its a 96 its not allowed to put aftermarket cats on it has to be oem quaility which is pretty pricey.im trying to get smog underthe table so i have more money to put down on my prelude.so if anyone noes someone which i knoe you guys do can you please help me.you would be doing me a big favor thanks
