Default First Post/Greetings/Questions

Hello everyone, I'm Miles new to the board. Just picked up a 2003 Honda Accord EX 3.0 V6 2dr from Carmax last week... and I am already looking to make it my own.

I was searching through car domain to see the type of options there are to customizing Accords (First time in the car market).. and I came across a few things that I really liked but not sure how to go about doing it.

First:
1. Converting the back of the 03 Accord into the 06 Accord (I believe it consist of switching out the trunk and the tail lights but not sure) ...

2. Putting HID Light kit.. either JDM or using the s2000 HID kit (would that fit perfectly or would I need to rig it?)

Sorry for the long post but since I just registered today i only get five posts. Thank you and I look forward to meeting/hearing from you all.

Changing your rearend to the newer accord is going to take a lot of fiberglass work, so without a lot of experience i wouldnt change that.

HID kits are awesome. I have an 8000k setup in my 97 accord. You get to pick from 4300k to 12000k, some other places have other temperatures. 4300k is pure white, 8000k is pure blue, and 1200k is pure purple. The inbetween numbers are a mixture of the colors, for example 6000k is mostly white but has a blue tint to it.

Any stock cars, as far as i know, like an s2000, have 4300k in them. Dont hold me to that. I highly suggest 6 or 8000k though. Any questions feel free to ask me.

I am assuming that going up i.e, (4300k to 12000k) you are going to have a brighter / more avaible light being released or does it just have to do with the color?

I would assume pure white would show more than blue or purple.. or is that just a common mistake?

maybe you can help me on my next issue..
I wanna upgrade my sound system, get new door/rear deck speakers and then install my subs into the trunk.. but i dont want to upgrade my headunit.. I like the stock look. I was wondering if i could add the amp i already have to incresae sound .. will it work with my stock unit?

higher the kelvin rating = less light, more purple

4300-6000 is the best

aftermarket headunit would definitely be your best bet, but i would imagine you could wire up an amp with the stock, you probably won't get as good of results

(also good to see another VA person)

You can get a LOC ( Line output converter) for the stock radio. It taps into your rear speakers, and takes the sub frequencys and sends them to the amp. There will be RCA outputs on the LOC box. Then you'd have to find an accessory switch for the amp remote. This is a good option if you reallllly don't want to loose the factory look, however, you will not have anywhere near the control of the subs and interior speakers sound/bass as you would with an aftermarket system.

For me, I have no bass coming from the interior speakers and the subs making all the bass for me. If i turn them off, it sounds very crisp and clean, no distorstion at all.

If you have more questions about the setup, you can post here, PM me, or go to the audio/video/security part of the forum.

My friend used a LOC on his focus and it gave him problems left and right. I would really suggest getting an aftermarket headunit. It's soooo much easier.

But HID wise I got it off a guy here at honda-tech in the for sale forums, I forget his name. And I didn't know what company, but they turned out awesome. If your looking for true blue get the 8000k. It puts out a lot of light. Its cool to see every sign on the road light up half a mile down the road.

I got my HIDs at NeverBurnOut. Their kits are completely plug and play, and they offer a lifetime warranty too.
