Default temporary paint job for body panels

sup guys, i just picked up a new bumper for my black EJ8, and i was looking for the best method of painting it temporarily until I can get a whole new paint job.. right now the bumper is painted a stock light red color, it almost looks pink, anyway.. what would be the best way to paint the bumper while it's still off of the car?

I was thinking a few cans of appliance spray paint, but how do i prep it? just sand the old paint off? thanks for any help

sand, primer, paint, clear coat bro. Or you can go with the flat black.

You dont have to have a palm sander, I just use a smal block that can be had at any paint shop or autozone etc...

For sanding, 800 should be find as all you want to do is make the surface acceptible to paint/primer.

After you put on a couple of coats of paint go back with 1000 paper and wetsand the bumper.

put on a couple more coats and wetsand with 1500. Then clear it and wet sand that if you need to with 1500 and then buff it out with some polishing compound.

Import Color FTW

Those cans are good quality for rattle cans. If you use multiple coats and wet sande/buff....it'll be good as the rest of your car.
