Why HCI Mag and "JDM" SUCK! Pictorial and Break-Down Inside!
Okay, just when you thought that Super Street was the worst magazine, I thought I'd show you all just how great it is compared to "other" magazines out there. Here's the latest issue of HCI mag - it's the one with the Orange "JDM" Civic getting a golden-blocked motor dropped in.
I found some totally retarded **** in this mag, including a "Guide to JDM" which is probably THE lamest **** I've ever seen in a mag.
Read these "Myths" and you will laugh your asses off!!!

Here's example # one. They list the Type R seat as "a big JDM ticket item" but that's a damn USDM seat! NICE one!
NICE!

And here we have another example of dumb-assedness! They list the B18C Type R motor as 1.5L here again! Nice one retards! Ever heard of proof-reading?

Now onto this mag's true shining points. Their "knowledge" of this Honda game. Notice the text about the motor that was swapped into the car mentioned? First up is the '87 B18C that was originally 1.5L but is now mysteriously 1.8L.

And now onto another retarded thing in the magazine. With all of the theft you would *think* that people and mags would be more careful about showing tag numbers, but think again! The first pic shows that "JDM" hatch and in the mag the tag is very clearly seen.

Even WORSE is these 2 pics below. The article talks about how this guy got car-jacked in his first car, waited 3 years to build another, and then THIS! The guy is from Virginia (probably worst theft-rate state for hybrids!) and his tag is very clearly seen here!
MORON!!! And the mag is full or morons too! WTF?

I have no gripes with JDM, but with morons running mags and doing this crap is makes JDM look just damn silly.

***THIS JUST IN***
Check out this "tech" article too!

Gotta love that rice adivise for "tuning" the interior!

Please feel free to break any of those myths down. I will leave those to you guys, and if you want more comedy than you can handle, please pick up that mag and read it, but don't buy it unless you really feel compelled to.
The copy I scanned was left at my shop after a guy brought it to me to look at.

and i think the guy with the white ek would thank you too for post his plate number nice and clear on the net.
Look guys, Super Street can be lame at times, but overall it's not a horrible mag. I've never seen such gross retardation in S.S like I did in 2 pages of HCI.

I cannot believe my eyes!
Need I scan even more crap from that mag?
They have a "tech" article about Hose Techniques hoses for under the hood!
Too funny too funny!

Really man, if he gave a **** enough then I would have thought that he would have either taken the tag off, told them to blur it out, or not showed his car in a mag in the first place.
Most ironic is that the article was full of his whinings about having his first Civic stolen.
MORON.
And shame on the mag for being that dumb too!
the guy with the white hb is a *******. His room mate is a thief (Tashi Simmons) who has riped off numerous members on this board.
looks like their EH turned out well... but they certaintly are idiots
they were referring to ITR seats being jdm as in jdm style i guess
look how dirty the back of the car is

Damn it! I've been "underground" with my super expen$ive JDM ITR seats for years, now this is gonna get played out. Forget it, I'm gonna go rice..... then maybe I can get my car in a good mag like HCI

Don't even try to pull that **** on me - his car was pictured like that in a nationally publicised magazine, so what harm will it do on here?

I picked up that mag the other day, and had a good laugh at all the mistakes, too. The tangerine hatch IS put together well, with nice go fast parts. You have to give them that, if anything.
One good thing about that magazine is that when they came out, they were doing articles on DIY turbo kits for b16a's.
You have to keep in mind that they have to feature whatever is hot, to sell magazines. "JDM" ia hot right now. It is a fad, this JDM phenomenon. Just wait it out, guys. In 5 years, the ricers and style boys will move on to the next thing.
You don't see people fighting over amber fog lights anymore, do you?

I never really ripped on the orange car, but more the mag itself and it's way of presenting that car.
Some gripes I have on the car probably don't matter anyways because it ain't my car. I would have done it differently though, but I'm sure he'd see my car and say he would have done it differently too.
To each his own I guess.
But really though, how in the hell do you as a magazine miss such gross "typos" or just be plain retarded like that?

i think the "honda tuning" mag is just as bad. they had a "jdm" section in one of their issues and they had a lot of things wrong. like .. "jdm civic type r camshafts come from a b16a"
anyways, andy bui (the owner of that car above) is a real nice person

for HCI
That tangerene hatch is incredibly nice. I have seen it in person. He works for the shop that i had some work done at. I have seen it in person and it is a HELLA CLEAN CAR!!!!! Such close attention to detail and everything mugen!!!!
AT least Super Street admits they are ripping off Option/Option2 and they are pretty accurate w/ their info. It bugs me that they are on the badwagon so much, but it beats mags full of stunna rides.
HCI is just a sad affair--period.
