Default Bad satilite radio recepiton

I have sirius radio in my civic with one of those magnet mount antennas and i get pretty crapy reception. I goes out when i drive under trees and sometimes just out of the blue. Is there a beter antenna i can buy? If your have the xm in your civic hookd up are you getin bad reception as well? What about those fin type antennas are they any beter and can you buy them?

Well, I have XM so I dont know how much I will help here. I have an OEM XM receiver in my 03 Pilot, had a XM receiver direct connected to my XM ready Alpine in my Dodge Truck before I traded it in for the new Civic, and now I have an add-on XM receiver in my Civic similar to your Sirius. When I go under larger overpasses, next to a cliff that is on the southern side of the highway, or trees on the southern part of the road or over the road, I lose reception, but dont lose it in storms or heavy clouds. So, with any sat. system its normal to lose it from time to time. I dont know about the loss out of the blue unless sirius is doing that. If you do change antennas, 1} make sure its for sirius radios and 2} check the connector end and make sure its the same as the one you have now. I know this sounds elementary and all, but its better to over check than to get stuck screwed.
I hope I helped!

I heard regular tint blocks the waves from my tint guy awhile ago. But maybe he was just trying to sell me the carbon tint or whatever which he stated it wouldn't affect my radio. I got the regular tint and radio still works great...

had the same problem with mine.... well sort of. i have the sportster 4 car kit, worked perfect for about 2 weeks then it started cutting out a lot, called sirius they said it was prly a bad antenna took it back to the audio place and after a few trouble shooting tries. found i had a bad unit.... they usually find it a problem w/ the car docking station..... hope that helps.... i have my antenna in back dash next to speaker.

I just got xm for my birthday and it does the same exact thing. i'm driving through my neighborhood and all of a sudden i get patches where it gets staticy. I think it's just the way it is. I do however get sucky reception over the radio.

Does anyone know how i can fix that too?

get a USA Spec brand adapter for honda and have it installed to use your Aux input of the radio. The adapters like 50-60 bucks IIRC.
