Anyone having any strange issues with the 2006 civic lx?
I was wondering if anyone else has the same issues as what I am with my 06 civic lx coupe. I am experiencing a strange noise when the fan is on, ac or not when making left turns. The noise is like a crumpled paper in a fan sound and the fan slows down considerably until going back straight. Also the newest issue, I have 45,000 kms on my civic and on the passenger floor when the a/c is on water comes on the passenger floormat, a signifigant amount. I am calling the dealer tomorrow but I wanted to ask on here just so I know. Thanks
well with olders cars when you get water condensing inside the car it meant the AC was being over worked on a hot day sometimes. With all the problems going on it sounds like your car's AC is not doing so well. Get it into the dealer asap. I know you said you were, but I wait on crap waaaay to long myself.
ok I will do that straight away. Thanks for the advice. I have had the car since last april, 2006. I have had no problems until last week. Its not even that hot here, it was only 26 today. 26 celcius
Sounds like you have excessive debris in the fan and evaporator housings. As the A/C the cold metal on the evaporator pulls the moisture out of the air much like the water forms on the side of a glass full of ice water. There is a drain that allows this water to flow out the bottom of the evap case that can get clogged. The case then fills up with water until it pours over onto the passenger side carpet. Two main causes for this is either debris from a tree that managed to get its way through the inlet under the windshield cowling and into the fan or a mouse has actually started to make a bed in the fan cage. Should be 3 8mm screws holding the fan in, pretty easy to pull down and check.
Also on the newer cars I've seen alot of quick lube places will fold the evap drain tube up out of the way to stop it from dripping them while they change the oil. Then they'll forget to unfold it and this blocks the water from draining out.

I had problems w/my a/c not too long ago (same car but sedan) and had to go take it in to be recharged... didn't even run the air last yr, got the car early september but yeh had to be done... considering the a/c unit isn't the best after they fix it, see if there is something you could do to prevent that... and the sound w/the fan u were talking about, when the fan kicks in does it make a sound to where the car shakes a bit?? I'd be at a stop light and the fan would kick on and the car would kick in loudly/
Oh ok i see, well it only makes the noise when making right turns. That sounds logical I took it into the dealer but it seems they didnt fix those issues the leak is still there and the fan noise so I am taking it back
