Cleaning Intake Manifold.
well, i have cleaned two, both ways worked great. First is carb cleaner and tooth brush for the inside, lots of scrubbin then soraying with water, and a scotchbrite pad on the outside. Sandblasting the outside with mild grit media works great, then high temp clear. I also took one along to the car wash to test out their "TIRE GRIME REMOVER" selection on the ****. I sprayed that inside and out on the mani and then went and washed my car for 5-6 minutes. When I had about a minute of time left I put er on wash (HOT SOAPY WATER) and got right up against it and removed all the ****. then rinsed with the regular rinse setting. Worked better than the carb cleaner did and had a decent shine. I still hit it with scotchbrite pads though and rinsed with garden hose. Sorry I dont have pics, I deleted em from my comp cause i never used them, and right now my cam is bein bitchy
funny this came up... i just did this 5 mins ago... carb cleaner,,, eats it right up... & my mom had one of those lint removers for the dryer that she never uses so i used that, scrubed & sprayed one more time to get all the crap out... came out clean as hell
Buy an aerosol can of paint stripper (Home depot, auto parts store). spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it off with a hose. You won't even get dirty.
No need to scrub, you might need to do it a couple of times.
