Quick question about tig and mig welding......

Quick question about tig and mig welding......
Problem: 97' H/B with radiator support off...
Question: Wondering if the tig welder will work just as good as the mig welder cause thats all I have. A tig welder... I mean, i'm only welding spot welds right? I dont need the mig welder to do this or am i wrong? Also, I dont even know where to rent one and I dont wanna spend so much money into something if I knew I could do it myself. Thanks in advanced.....
