Default Power Street Rules

Who has raced power street so far and not had rear seat. I saw in the rules it said NA cars can remove rear interior but it seems the norm for all types of people to remove the rear seats. I have all the rear panels and no seats or carpet and all interior from the b pillar forward. Just wondering, im not really planning to run PS but options are good.

I spoke with NOPI briefly about it... but didnt really come to any conclusion... they said that they HAVE to be in the car... but my cage doesnt clear the rear seats.. (since I had no intention of ever putting them back in the car) My current plan would be to set them back in the car 'folded down' so that they are there, but not in any way useful... now I just have to come up with carpet.

sorry not much help... but I guess I would like to know too..

Maybe NOPI will chime in to clarify.

When I was running that class, I saw cars go through tech that did not have the back seat. I also saw a car go through with bias ply tires. They don't check the cars that great all of the time, but if you notice somebody's car being illegal, they are quick to resolve it.

I would like to see the guy who thinks that they could have beat you (in that situation) if you had a back seat in the car. LOL

time to start covering the cars in the pits and tinting the **** out of the windows to keep whiners from spying LOL

seats dont weigh anything i think everything but the rear seats should be kept and drag radials should be enforced, simple enough.

they want them there to separate the turbo street cars from the power street cars as far as streetablity and being truly daily driveable.

1st try engineering who put my cage in just measured so the rear seats would fit and called S&W with the specs and they sent pre bent bars to jeff that fit perfect and the seats could even still be used(with a lot of roll cage padding on the cage of course).

Per rules
INTERIOR: All interior, Seats, Door panels, dash, headliner and carpet must remain in place. Doors must work from inside and outside of vehicle. Windows and door switches must work as designed by manufacturer. Cars will be re-inspected on the return road; any cars found missing required components shall be disqualified. Stock steering column and turn signals most be retained. N/A cars are allowed to remove interior from behind the front seats to the rear of the car.

I guess turbo cars are SOL!!!

Full interiors are required to try and help power street stay somewhat obtainable instead of a one power adder street tire pro class just like turbo street has become the new pro 4-just with more cars. Its the last resemblence of what sportsman classes used to represent, when the avarage Joe who worked 9-5 at a regular job could still drive his car there and be soemwhat competitive.
