Default ECU going out?!!!!

I have a 91 accord dx, the car has 2 diffrent transmisson modes sport and regular. Well for the past couple of months sport would light up without me turning it on and stay on for about a half hr or so. It always seemed to happen when I left the car out in the sun on a hot day. (Its always hot in florida) but now all of a sudden the light comes on and it will not go off. Its pissen me of because the cars aceleration is actullay a little bit slower in this mode and I it doesnt seem to be shifting probably. I know its not the transmission because I would feel it catch when it shifts . Its seems like the computer is sending the signal to swicth gears late. Anyways Im starting to think its my ECU and was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if so how did they fix it. Also the cheapest price I can find for a 91 ECU is about $230 and was wondering if anybody knew where I could get a lower price. Thanx

I have no clue how you would go about diagnosing it, but I do know its located right next to the ECU, so if your looking for it, you know where to look,

Hey you said that it seems to shift slower now, do you mean like it would hold each gear longer before shifting? If so I think thats just the characteristics of sports mode. I believe when sports mode is on, it holds the gears for abit long so you can get higher in the powerband before shifting. I would suggest maybe checking to see if your sports mode button is defective. Maybe the contacts inside are no good? Worth taking a look at before you go out and waste your money on ECMs and TCMs.

Have we decided on what that sport mode button does? Is it an actual sport mode or just overdrive?
