ok i have a stock gsr
my friend just purchase some new cams for his motor which is the jdm gsr b18c

hes giving me his stock cams and im wondering if they would make any difference in my car


yes i know that im not going to get 5hp out if this but they are free
im asking this b/c when i drive his car when his vtec engages and feels so more agressive than my car

any help would be great

 

if his engine is indeed a b18c from japan, I dont think youll get any gains out of it.

They are pretty much the same engine, and the only reason why the jdm version has more power is because of the higher compression ratio, which is because of the pistons.

Take them and try to sell them on the internet! they make good turbo cams for b series engines... theyre better than b16 cams for boost, so try ot sell them to someone who has a turbod b16

10.0:1 here in the states, and 10.6:1 over in jdmland.

 

They always get the better stuff in Japan haha.
