Default Auto to Manual conversion - screws up speedometer

hey

I have a 99 LS and i did a auto to manual swap and now the speedometer is reading almost exactly 5 MPH more than it should.

I've called dealerships and they say the speed sensor is the same product no for manual and auto.

Has anyone had any experience with this? It's kind of frustrating to know its there and not know what's going on.

p.s. also if i have an auto cluster, can i overlap a set of manual gauges? I was told that the gauge diameter of the manual cluster is different than automatic (so it won't fit?) that true?

Thanks
