Default 2006 Civic Cluster Swap.

I have a 2006 4 door manual civic. I am wondering if I can just swap out my cluster and replace it with a 2006 Si Cluster? Has anyone done this before? Are they clusters just plug and play. Thanks in advance.... and this site ROCKS>>>>>>>

The older gen Civics were direct swaps. Why would you want 8k redline when your only going up to 7?

I'm not so sure it would work. The speedo is probably set different since it is reading from a different tranny. As for the tach, im no expert on those, but i would assume it would work. You just may end up over-revving in the si excitement.

I kind of want an 07 Si cluster in my 06 Si. I want the reversed display. Red on black is easier to read than black on red

Hey, I didn't even think about that! I should actually take a look at the dash of an '07 Si... I guess the only thing '07 Si have that '06 Si don't have on the dash is the VSS light. So unless they moved pins around, it should work, right?

x2

My only question on that is, becuase its all digital can it be programed to match the current odo reading??? Or would there be a way to just swap the display colors??

I'm sure the dealer could do it if I told them why. I also wonder if the mileage is stored in the cluster or in the ECU, or someplace else. I'm guessing cluster like always.

They aren't cheap... I'll wait til some 07 Si's get totalled.

I'm sure the VSA light will just say VSA off all the time (or does it only light when VSA is on? either way... Probably just a bulb?)

New 07 Si cluster: 78200-SVB-A51 @ $230

Well... I guess $230 isn't too high.

I just sold a used JDM cluster for an EG for $175 so... yea. I might just buy the 07 and sell the 06 cluster to someone like the original poster

Aye man, keep us updated. And $230 doesn't sound too expensive for a digital dash, but cheaper is always better. Time to keep an eye on salvage yards!

the dealer will do the odometer, but its not cheap. Ford kept my dads truck for a week while waiting for an odometer adjustment (duno what it was for) but they cant legally let you drive it if the odometer isnt right.

I have a tach and speedo from a totaled 2006 Honda Civic SI if anyone is interested in purchasing and trying to install them. They both are fully functioning. Shoot me a message if you're are interested in talking some numbers.
